Every mother wants to be slim, petite and
attractive again, but everyone know that women put on weight naturally during
(pre natal weight gain) and even after pregnancy (post natal weight gain).
Unfortunately, most new mothers will never get back to their former slim body
shape after giving birth not because they can't, but because they don't know
how to.
If you are a new mummy, then you will know
that weight gain after pregnancy is something all new mums are concerned
about. It is all right putting on weight when you are pregnant and for some
women, pregnancy is a wonderful excuse for food binges as you will need more
nutrition to feed yourself and the baby inside you.
However once you have given birth and
breastfeeding is either established or is done with, then the question of how
to lose your extra body weight must be of a great concern to you. This article
will explore certain factors why women gain weight after giving birth and why
certain programs to lose weight simply do not work.

How long does it take for new mothers to lose
weight?
Most mothers will need about the same amount of
time to lose the weight they gained during pregnancy as long as it took them
to put on the weight. That will mean about 9 months, provided their weight
gain was within the 10 – 20 pounds (about 5 – 10 kg) which most doctors
recommend.
It can be faster and healthier if you are
losing weight under a professionally guided weight
loss program for mothers. Unfortunately for most mums, they will never get
back to their former slim bodies because they do not know how to. Are one of

It
is important to understand that during the first few months after birth, your
body is going through many changes and also new things are happening to your
daily routines that the thought of losing weight is not a top priority. Eating
nutritiously, getting enough sleep and taking care of your beloved baby should
be where your priorities are and rightly so.
Once
these factors are in place, then working on how to lose weight can begin with
your utmost conviction and determination.

to common belief, you cannot choose which area on your body you want to lose
weight from. There is no such thing as spot reduction unless you undergo
invasive medical procedures such as liposuction. Weight loss can happen only
when you burn the fat stored in your body and so increasing your metabolism is
your passport to weight loss.
To
raise your metabolism, it is of utmost importance to combine good dietary
habits coupled with regular aerobic exercises such as running, skipping or
cycling just to name a few. Eating smaller meals more often will also help
your body raise its metabolic rate to burn more fat.

Never skip
meals because skipping meals will lower your metabolism and thus sabotaging
your weight loss process! Skipping meals is the most common weight loss
mistake! Another common weight loss mistake made by many mothers is doing more
body specific exercises such as crunches or sit-ups to trim the tummy area.
Although
these are good exercises, they are not effective for losing weight. These
exercises will tone up your muscles, which is what you will need to do after
you have lost the desired amount of post natal weight.
If
you intend lose weight post pregnancy, then you must have a certain amount of
determination, tenacity and commitment to stick your weight loss exercise
program and a well-balanced healthy diet especially planned by a weight loss
professional for it to be healthy, effective and within your ability to stick
to them.
There
is no point trying to follow an exercise program that is beyond your physical
capability as you are more likely to dump it along the way. Oh....you already

often than not, women who have or follow unrealistic goals tend to gain,
rather than lose their body fat. You
