How to lose chest fat
One of the most common question I get from my male clients is "How can I lose
fat from my chest?". This is because some people have a tendency to store fat
in the chest and breast area.
This condition can be quite embarrassing for men because the syndrom is
generically termed as "men's breast" or "bitch tits" and medically known as
gynaecomastia. Unknown to most people, it is estimated that 30-40% of men have
this syndrome albeit in varying degree.
It would be wonderful if those affected can cut down their chest fat and
tone them up so that their chest can look lean and firm. Unfortunately, losing
fat from the chest can be quite a daunting task.
Aerobic exercises like jogging, rowing, swimming or even brisk walking can
help to burn
fat away and especially even more effective when combined with a healthy
diet. The problem is that there is no such thing as spot reduction except
through medical procedures such as liposuction.
That means that we cannot make the body burn fat from the chest or
breast area alone. When you exercise and diet, your body uses fat randomly
from all over your body for energy.
However, as more fat is burned, you will start see your chest fat shrinking
along with the rest of the body. More good news is that if you are also
training with weights, you will see your chest becoming firmer instead of
being wobbly like when you first started. You will also start to see beautiful
muscle definition and even that elusive fabulous 6 pack abs.
Tone Chest Muscle
Toning the chest area will firm the chest muscles and give the illusion of a
leaner upper body. For women, the effects can be wonderful too as toning the
breast muscle will help lift and firm sagging breasts giving rise to a more
shapely upper body giving the illusion of a smaller waist.
One of the best exercises to tone and firm the chest is the classical push up
since they can easily be performed anywhere and don't require special
equipment. However, for men who want to build
firmer chest muscle, then I recommend that the push ups be done with
weighted plates on the back for more intensity.
The good news is that pushups when properly executed not only work your chest
hard, the exercise also work core, including the abs, lats, shoulder, triceps.
In other words, it is almost like a full body workout. The fact is that the
more muscle you develop, the more fat you will burn metabolically.
