One of the main elements of a good and healthy
diet that you will constantly hear about is fruits and vegetables. One of the
major challenges people have in maintaining a good healthy diet is getting the
required daily servings of these nutrients.
It has been estimated and widely accepted
that you will need to consume between three and five servings of vegetables
per day. Also you should have an intake of between two to four servings of
fruits too.
How
then can you get what you need? Here are some tips and suggestions you can use
to include more fruits and vegetables in your diet

Do make sure you have a minimum of at least one
serving of fruit when you have your breakfast in the morning and if at all
possible, have even two servings. You can try an apple, or a cup of juice, or
you can mix a fruit and juice for a delicious morning smoothie.

you snack throughout the day, try to have one or two servings of fruits as
part of your snack or make it your snack per se. You can have raw vegetables
and have it with a dressing or dip. A dish of fruit chopped into small pieces
is a good way to do it.

When you are having
lunch and you should have two vegetable servings along with quality diet
pills. For lunch you can have a piece of lettuce along with a slice of tomato
with your main meal along with some raw vegetables.
When having your dinner you can try steam
vegetables or you can have a serving of vegetable soup. One simple substitute
can be a pizza that has a large amount of vegetable topping.
One thing
you can do when you are preparing dinner is to prepare a plate of fresh
vegetables to munch on when you are at work. You can also have them with the
dinner. Before you know it you would have consumed a serving or two of
vegetables. That is easy, isn't it?

You can also try to have vegetables with your
dinner and make sure it takes up half of your plate. When you have finished
the vegetables on your plate you should go back for second helpings if you
can. Do keep frozen fruits and vegetables close by just in case you do not
have fresh ones. Their (frozen fruits) nutritional value is just about the
same as the fresh fruits.
Have
a cup of vegetable juice and make it a part of your complete meal or snack.
There are a number of such products on the market that you can use or you can
also make your own. Whenever you are having dessert you can try having it with
a piece of fruit too.
