How To Flatten Tummy And Get 8 Pack Abs
Everyone knows that in order for your 6 pack or 8
pack abs to show, you have to lose your tummy fat to such an extent that your
belly fat do not cover your hard earned abdominal muscle. So you try very hard
to lose your tummy fat but somehow even as you drop the pounds on the scale,
you still have difficulty in losing your stomach fat? Why?
If the above questions described your
predicament, don’t worry, your situation is very common. As a matter of fact,
most people attempting to lose belly fat just end up losing some body weight
without ever burning the fat off their abdominal area. This is because typical
weight loss methods do little to burn that stubborn belly fat that sticks to
your stomach.

Did I surprise you with that statement? Does this
mean that you just have to accept that your ugly and unhealthy abdominal fat
is there to stay? Of course not, if you know the tricks to lose belly fat! So
why is it so difficult to get rid of your beer belly or if you already have
your six pack, the last few pounds of lower abdominal fat to reveal
your fabulous 8 pack abs?
Secrets To 8 Pack Abs
One of the many reasons that your stubborn tummy
fat refused to go away is because of insulin. There is a distinct correlation
between insulin resistance and general obesity which is well-documented and is
accepted in the fitness fraternity. It is known for years that people with
tummy fat are at a greater risk of developing type 2 Diabetes.
So does the insulin cause gains in belly fat
or does tummy fat negatively affect insulin metabolism? Well, what is
essential is the fact that you recognize the correlation between insulin
levels and belly fat and that by controlling insulin production in our bodies,
you can prevent new fat from being stored in your abdomen while mobilizing and
burning the stubborn fat in that area.
Insulin level must be controlled in order to
effectively lose belly fat. The best way to accomplish this is through dietary
methods such as avoiding excessive sugar and processed food consumption and
eating fibrous vegetables and/or fruit at each meal and at the same time limit
saturated fat consumption and eating smaller meals throughout the day.
Another reason for having difficulty in
reducing belly fat is cortisol. Cortisol is a hormone that is made and
released by the adrenals. It is sometime called the stress hormone because it
is released in the body in response to stress. This hormone does a lot of
nasty things in your body including breaking down lean muscle mass and
negatively affecting insulin metabolism. Both of these effects can lead to
body fat accumulation.
Your abdominal fat is vey sensitive to the
negative effects of cortisol. In fact, it has five times more cortisol
receptors than any other fat on your body. So when you have high levels of
cortisol in your blood, your body needs a place to store it, so where else
than your abdominal area? Ahhhh…..you are getting the picture. Therefore when
you want to get rid of your belly fat to get a flat stomach to show
off your six or eight pack abs, you must
reduce your level of stress to an amount that your body can cope. This stress
reduction should be mental, emotional as well as physical.
Next, there are two main types of receptors
on fat cells which have a profound effect on body fat metabolism. These two
receptors are the Alpha-receptors and the Beta-receptors. The Beta-receptors
increase fat burning and increase blood flow. As far as the fat burning
process goes, think of Beta-receptors like a gas pedal in a car, accelerating
the amount of fat being released from the fat cells to be burned as fuel for
energy. This is really helpful for burning body fat deposits.
However, we also have Alpha-receptors. These
receptors decrease fat burning and inhibit blood flow which in turn doesn’t
allow fat burning hormones to access the fat easily. Therefore, think of
Alpha-receptors like the brake pedal, halting the fat from being burnt to a
screeching stop.
The problem is that your stubborn tummy fat
has a significantly greater number of Alpha-receptors than it does
Beta-receptors. Since the distribution of Alpha- and Beta-receptors is largely
determined by your genetic makeup, you cannot change the ratio of these
receptors. However, you can keep your foot on the gas by activating
Beta-receptors and minimize the braking by activating Alpha-receptors.
In order to do this, one of the most
important things to do is control insulin as insulin is a catalyst for
Alpha-receptor activity. Furthermore, you can block the Alpha-receptors by
working out with a particular type of training. When you train with a
well-designed metabolic training routine, you create sympathetic nervous
system activity. This activity in turn blocks the Alpha-receptors, thus
allowing the Beta-receptors to dominate your fat cells which will stimulate
your body to burn its stubborn fat.
